Brandon Watson Returns to APC Series Victory Lane at Flamboro Speedway

MILLGROVE, Ontario --- When it was announced that Brandon Watson would be back apart of the APC Auto Parts United Late Model Series, the only question a lot of people were asking - how long will it take for him to return to victory lane?

The answer was delivered on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway, as the series all-time win leader secured the checkered flag in the London Recreational Racing 125.

Watson showed speed throughout the day by pacing both practice sessions and setting the quickest time in qualifying. He ultimately took the green flag on the second row after the invert, finding his way to the runner-up spot by Lap 12. He kept pace with the leader until Lap 103, when he made his move to take over the top spot. He then led the final 22 laps en route to victory lane.

Connor Pritiko made a late-race move to secure the runner-up spot, with Kyle Steckly third ahead of Josh Stade and Shawn Chenoweth. Jake Sheridan worked his way through traffic for sixth in front of Junior Farrelly, Tyler Di Venanzo, Brady Smith, and Jacob Sutcliffe.

Kendra Adams was 11th, followed by Connor Maltese, Shae Gemmell, Danny Knoll Jr., and Dale Shaw. Gemmell led the opening 100 laps and ran inside the top-five until damage while battling three-wide resulted in a late mechanical issue to cause him to spin and make heavy contact with the outside turn one wall.

The Dayco Super Stocks \ Steel City Super Stock Series combination event saw a familiar face at the front of the field with Lane Zardo topping both practice sessions and qualifying en route to a dominating victory. Zardo took the lead on Lap 17 and never looked back in an emotional victory that came shortly after losing his father.

Nic Ramsay was second ahead of Shawn Chenoweth, Cole Burrows, and Paul Pepper. Chad Corcoran led the opening 16 laps before fading back to sixth in front of Hudson Nagy, Mason Collver, Nic Troback, and Justin Collison. Collison's feature did not start off well as contact saw him parked on the backstretch wall. Coltin Everingham rounded out the field.

The next event at Flamboro Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, featuring a Christmas in July Toy Drive and Meet the Drivers Night, where fans will have the chance to walk the track and talk to their favourite competitors. The on-track action will feature the Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modifieds, Great Lakes Legend Series, Southern Ontario Modified Association Pro 4 Modifieds, Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stocks, and the Outlaw Midgets presented by Glenn Styres Racing.
