Connor James Continues Ontario Sportsman Series Victory Streak at Flamboro Speedway

MILLGROVE, Ontario --- Finding his way to the lead on Lap 10, Connor James dominated en route to winning the Ontario Sportsman Series feature at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, August 23.
James laid down the quickest lap in qualifying at 16.359 seconds ahead of Shawn McGlynn (16.507), Kevin Gallant (16.560), Derek McCoullough (16.597), and Brendan Patrick (16.601). Kevin Trevellin was sixth in front of Sean Mangin, Brad Robinson, Doug Cathcart, and Kaden Patrick.
Come feature time, the dominant speed that has led Connor James to victory lane previously this season showed, as he dominated en route to picking up his sixth checkered flag of the season. He did not have it easy, with Shawn McGlynn proving to be a thorn in his side for a good chunk of the event en route to second ahead of Sean Mangin, Derek McCullough, and Brad Robinson. Home track favourite Kevin Gallant was sixth in front of Doug Cathcart, Nathaniel Greenway, Brendan Patrick, and Kevin Trevelin. Cooper Aubertin, Kaden Patrick, and Kyle Istead completed the field.
Adam Racine won the first T.Q. Can-Am Midget heat ahead of Adrian Stahle, Jaden Riddell, Darren McLennan, Larry Lawson, and Alex Connell.
James Stanley won the second qualifier in front of Sherri Hogan, Tyler Cullen, Roberto Pollilo, Richard Woodland, Paul Jorgensen, and Daniel Hawn. Hawn failed to finish the heat as a result of contact with the wall as a result of an incident with Jorgensen.
Mike Westwood picked up the checkered flag in the Dash for Cash, followed by Richard Woodland, Larry Lawson, and Alex Connell.
James Stanley kept the good times rolling, as he took the lead with three laps to go to score the feature victory in continuing with a theme that has been happening as of late. Darren McLennan was second ahead of Adrian Stahle. Daniel Hawn finished fourth after jumping behind the wheel of Richard Woodland's car for the feature. Tyler Cullen was fifth in front of Roberto Pollilo, Sherri Hogan, Larry Lawson, Adam Racine, and Alex Connell. Jaden Riddell completed the field.
The Norris family led the way in the first Ontario Pro Challenge feature, as Tim picked up the win ahead of his kids Mike and Emma. Sterling Hattin and Ethan Fleet completed the top-five ahead of Travis Majuery, Taylor Weber, Jae Pepin, Jay Linde, and Mike O'Connell. Canadian Vintage Modified regular Ty Riopelle was 11th in front of Colton Clark and Tenli Pepin. Tenli went for a wild ride on the opening lap, finding herself up on the turn three and four wall.
Matt Young led all 25 laps to win the first Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stock feature ahead of Ryan Edwards-Kiss, Bobby Mercer, Shawn Taylor, Chris Pendlebury, Rory Markle, and Tyler Lewis.
Matt Young swept the night by winning the second feature in front of Ryan Edwards-Kiss, Shawn Taylor, Rory Markle, and Chris Pendlebury.
Hailey Hill scored her second career Hogan Law & McClurkin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stock feature victory ahead of Rick Mitchell, Chance Rogers, Leo Labarbera, and Spencer Riddell. Chase Mitchell ran inside the top-five early, fading for sixth, in front of John Cote, Jake Watson, Wayde Thorne, and Cody Wilds.
Courtney Scott battled just outside the top-10 en route to an 11th-place finish, followed by David Rockwood, Brandyn Milligan, Mark Allan, Gary Triska, Teagan Ellis, Matt Young, Rayse Meyers, Nathan Rhea, Megan Mitchell, Rachel Mitchell, and Elijah Hawrylyshyn.
Matt Young picked up the checkered flag in the second feature to give Blue Streak Contracting a sweep on the night ahead of Chase Mitchell, David Rockwood, Spencer Riddell, and Jake Watson. Cam Thomson made his way forward for sixth in front of Brandyn Milligan, Leo Labarbera, Chris Pendlebury, Hailey Hill, and Chance Rogers.
John Cote battled his way forward for 11th, followed by Gary Triska, Rick Mitchell, Courtney Scott, Rayse Meyers, Nathan Rhea, Rachel Mitchell, Cody Wilds, Megan Mitchell, Teagan Ellis, Elijah Hawrylyshyn, Jeremy Dungey, and Wayde Thorne.
This Saturday, August 30 will feature the Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modifieds, Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stocks, Hogan Law & McClurklin Properties Pure Stocks, BCW Lumber Southern Ontario Pro 4 Modifieds, and the return of the always exciting Spectator Drags at intermission!
