Jeff Blackburn Victorious in Miller Mobile Offices T.Q. Can-Am Midgets Season Opener

MILLGROVE, Ontario --- It may have been the second night of the season for Flamboro Speedway, but it was the season opener for a pair of touring divisions as the track played host to the Miller Mobile Offices T.Q. Can-Am Midgets and Weston Forest Products Ontario Pro Challenge.
TQ Can-AM Midgets
Daniel Hawn won the first Miller Mobile Offices T.Q. Can-Am Midgets heat ahead of Dominique Smith, Roberto Pollillo, Richard Woodland, and Mike Westwood. Larry Lawson placed sixth in front of Alex Connell, with Jaden Riddell and Sherri Hogan failing to finish.
Darren McLennan won the second heat to give Hawn Chassis Works a sweep of the day in front of Jeff Blackburn, Cory Whittam, James Stanley, and Adam Racine. Tyler Cullen was sixth, while Paul Jorgensen and Andrew Whalen failed to finish.
Jeff Blackburn waited until the final five laps to take the lead, taking the top spot on Lap 26 of 30 to win the feature ahead of Daniel Hawn, James Stanley, Cory Whittam, and Darren McLennan. Dominique Smith was sixth in front of Adam Racine, Paul Jorgensen, Jaden Riddell, and Tyler Cullen.
Richard Woodland ran inside the top-10 throughout, fading in the late stages for 11th, followed by Larry Lawson, and Mike Westwood. Alex Connell, Roberto Prollillo, and Sherri Hogan failed to finish. Andrew Wahlen did not take the green flag.
Ontario Pro Challenge
Mike Norris took the lead on Lap 6, pacing the rest of the way en route to winning the Weston Forest Products Ontario Pro Challenge in front of his father Tim Norris, Ty Riopelle, Travis Majuery, and Jay Linde. Mike O’Connell ran inside the top-five for the first half, fading back to sixth ahead of Ethan Fleet, Emma Norris, Sterling Hattin, and Tenli Pepin. Taylor Weber was 11th.
Mike Norris went for the daily double, this time picking up the win in front of Travis Majuery, Ty Riopelle, Tim Norris, and Jay Linde. Emma Norris made her way forward for sixth this time around, ahead of Mike O’Connell, Taylor Weber, Ethan Fleet, and Sterling Hattin. Tenli Pepin failed to finish.
Jordan Ramsbottom, Bryan Stevanus, and Mike Gilmour failed to take the green flag in both features.
Pro Late Models
Billy Schwartzenburg took the lead on Lap 2, and did not look back en route to winning the first Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Model feature ahead of Kevin Albers and Kevin Gallant.
Billy Schwartzenburg went for the daily double, making it three wins in four races for 2025. Kevin Albers and Kevin Gallant rounded out the field.
Pure Stocks
Taking the lead with 10 laps complete, Spencer Riddell led the rest of the way en route to winning the first Hogan Law & McClurkin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stock feature of the season ahead of Rick Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, Chance Rogers, and Mac Ingram.
Mark Allan fell back in the last five laps to sixth in front of Rachel Mitchell, John Cote, Hailey Hill, and Leo Labarbera.
Mike Hall made his way forward from the back for 11th, followed by Kris Lawrence, Cam Thomson, Gary Triska, Teagan Ellis, Megan Mitchell, and Caroline Kelly. Craig Cole, Matt Young, Dan Storey, and Wayde Thorne each failed to finish.
Cam Thomson led 16 of the 20 laps, out-battling Wayde Thorne in the final laps to win hte second feature ahead of John Cote, Mac Ingram, and Spencer Riddell. Gary Triska led early, fading back to place sixth, in front of Matt Young, Leo Labarbera, Chance Rogers, and Chase Mitchell.
Rick Mitchell ran mid-field for an 11th-place finish, followed by Rachel Mitchell, Dan Storey, Teagan Ellis, Megan Mitchell, Mike Hall, and Caroline Kelly. Kris Lawrence, Hailey Hill and Mark Allan failed to finish, while Craig Cole was disqualified. Owen Brooker and Murray Nicholls failed to take the green flag in both features.
This weekend at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, May 17, is one of their special $15 admission nights, highlighted by the Southern Ontario Modified Association (SOMA). Canadian Vintage Modifieds are also on-hand, along with Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, and the Spectator Drags.
