Lane Zardo Goes Back-to-Back in Steel City Super Stock Series at Flamboro Speedway

MILLGROVE, Ontario --- There's a clear favourite emerging in the new Steel City Super Stock Series at Flamboro Speedway, as Lane Zardo went back-to-back with a victory in the second event this past weekend.
Steel City Super Stock Rumble Series
Zardo was not the quickest car in time trials, as that honour went to Roy Wilkie, who laid down a lap of 16.353 seconds to top the chart ahead of Zardo and Justin Collison. Collison got the pole on the invert, and paced the opening 10 laps of the event.
Lane Zardo took over the top spot with 11 laps on the board, pacing the rest of the 35 lap feature en route to picking up the checkered flag ahead of Bailey Jacobs, Justin Collison, Roy Wilkie, and Chad Corcoran. Cole Burrows was sixth in front of Jerry Broom, Connor Maltese, Brendon Edgar, and Nick Troback.
Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Models
Billy Schwartzenburg picked up the victory in the Grisdale Race Products Late Model feature ahead of Kevin Albers, Rick Burbridge, Kevin Gallant, and Darren Jones.
Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stocks
Matt Young led flag-to-flag in the first Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stock feature ahead of Mike Thomson, Tyler Lewis, Bobby Mercer, Blaise Shaw, Rodney Rutherford, Rory Markle and Mark Grieve.
Mike Thomson took the lead on Lap 12, pacing the remaining laps to win the second Mini Stock feature in front of Blaise Shaw, Matt Young, Tyler Lewis, Rodney Rutherford, Rory Markle, and Mark Grieve.
Hogan Law & McClurkin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stock
Brandyn Milligan took the lead with nine laps to go, scoring his first career Hogan Law & McClurkin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stock feature victory ahead of Spencer Riddell, Chase Mitchell, John Cote, and Gary Slama. Leo Labarbera battled his way forward for sixth in front of Chance Rogers, Courtney Scott, Craig Cole, and Mark Allan.
Hailey Hill worked her way up to 11th in her new car, followed by Teagan Ellis, Megan Mitchell, Caroline Kelly, Jeremy Dungey, Rick Mitchell, Rachel Mitchell, Cam Thomson, and Reece Bourgeois. Milligan was disqualified after tech inspection, handing the win over to Spencer Riddell.
Gary Slama made the last lap pass to win the second feature ahead of John Cote, Craig Cole, Chase Mitchell, and Spencer Riddell. Megan Mitchell led the first 12 laps, before fading back to sixth in front of Leo Labarbera, Chance Rogers, Teagan Ellis, and Reece Bourgeois.
Hailey Hill was 11th once again, followed by Brandyn Milligan, Mark Allan, Rachel Mitchell, Caroline Kelly, Jeremy Dungey, Rick Mitchell, Cam Thomson, and Owen Brooker.
Southern Ontario Pro 4 Modifieds
Brodie Gibson opened up the night by winning the first feature for the Southern Ontario Modified Association (SOMA).
Cliff Hodgkinson led flag-to-flag to win the second SOMA feature ahead of Shannon Morris, Bob Mercer, Riley Mercer, and Ken Mercer. Brad Maitland ran inside the top-five early, fading to sixth in front of Mark Lucas, Kelly Martin, Jesse Gibson, and Brodie Gibson.
This Saturday, June 28 is $15 Admission Night featuring the season opener for the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series (OMRS). The night will also include the Canadian Vintage Modifieds, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, Southern Ontario Modified Association, and Spectator Drags.
