Norris Family Sweeps Ontario Pro Challenge Features at Flamboro Speedway

MILLGROVE, Ontario --- The family that wins together, sticks together, right? If that's the case, the Norris family is doing that well with a sweep of the Ontario Pro Challenge features by father and daughter on Saturday, August 9 at Flamboro Speedway.


Tim Norris won the first feature after taking the lead with eight laps to go ahead of son Mike Norris, Sterling Hattin, Emma Norris, and Mike O'Connell. Travis Majuery was sixth in front of Taylor Weber, Ethan Fleet, Tenli Pepin, and Colton Clark.


Emma Norris grabbed the lead in the final laps to win the second feature ahead of Ethan Fleet, Mike Norris, Travis Majuery, and Sterling Hattin. Tenli Pepin rebounded from the first feature for sixth in front of Tim Norris, Taylor Weber, Mike O'Connell, and Colton Clark.


Billy Swartzenburg took the lead on Lap 14 to win the first Grisdale Racing Products Late Model feature ahead of Kevin Albers, Rick Burbridge, Darren Jones, and Kevin Gallant.


Billy Schwartzenburg made it a sweep on the night by winning the second feature in front of Kevin Albers, Rick Burbridge, Kevin Gallant, and Darren Jones.


Bobby Mercer looks to have the bugs worked out of the wagon after winning the first Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stock feature ahead of Ryan Edwards-Kiss, Mike Thomson, Shawn Taylor, and Cam Thomson. Mark Grieve was sixth in front of Dan Pettit, Rodney Rutherford, Matt Young, and Mark Thorne.


Bobby Mercer swept the night with a win in the second feature ahead of Mike Thomson, Ryan Edwards-Kiss, Shawn Taylor, and Cam Thomson. Dan Pettit was sixth in front of Rodney Rutherford, with Mark Grieve done after contact with the backstretch wall on Lap 1.


Craig Cole took the lead on Lap 4, and did not look back en route to winning the Hogan Law & McClurkin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stock feature ahead of Gary Slama, John Cote, Rodney Rutherford, and Hailey Hill. Spencer Riddell rebounded from his wreck a week ago for sixth in front of Rachel Mitchell, Cam Thomson, Chance Rogers, and Leo Labarbera.


Rick Mitchell was 11th, followed by Mark Allan, Matt Young, Megan Mitchell, Connor Ross, and Teagan Ellis.


Matt Young put his struggles in the Mini Stock behind him by winning the second Pure stock feature ahead of Cam Thomson, Chase Mitchell, Gary Slama, and Rick Mitchell. John Cote was sixth in front of Spencer Riddell, Leo Labarbera, Hailey Hill, and Chance Rogers.


Mark Allan was 11th, followed by Craig Cole, Rachel Mitchell, Megan Mitchell, Teagan Ellis, and Connor Ross.


Flamboro Speedway will be hosting Meet the Drivers Night & Reunion Night Presented by Flamboro Speedway Hall of Fame this Saturday, August 16. The on-track action will feature the Pro Late Models, Canadian Vintage Modifieds, Mini Stocks & Pure Stocks.
