FLAMBORO, Ontario --- Before you can race in the bigger classes of motorsports, you need to get your start somewhere. For a lot of drivers, it was in the four-cylinder Mini Stocks and Pure Stocks. Those classes shined on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway, with one driver sweeping the night.
Klotz Auto Repair and Engine Machine Shop Mini Stocks
Karl Sault scored his seventh victory of 2019 in the first feature ahead of Dylan Sharpe, Erik Dalla Riva, Kaitlyn Wallace, and Shawn Taylor. Jonathan Ayrton finished sixth, followed by Mike Hooper, Kyle Istead, Wendy Adams, and Tyler Lewis. Kyle Da Silva and Nick Lasiuk failed to finish, with Dale Millard receiving a rough driving penalty.

Kaitlyn Wallace finished sixth, followed by Mike Hooper, Kyle Istead, Dale Millard, Wendy Adams, and Tyler Lewis. Both Kyle Da Silva and Nick Lasiuk failed to take the green flag.
McClurkin Properties Cambridge Pure Stocks
Dale Lucas scored his second victory of 2019 in the first feature ahead of his son Kyle Lucas, with Leo Labarbera in third followed by Bobby Mercer and Phil Givens. Jared Bodnar finished sixth, followed by Mark Thorne, Jimmy Hooper, Jeff Kells, and Courtney Scott. Jamie Whittam and Brian Gamble rounded out the field.
Phil Givens picked up his first win of 2019 in the second feature ahead of Jared Bodnar, Leo Labarbera, Jimmy Hooper, and Dale Lucas. Bobby Mercer finished sixth, followed by Mark Thorne, Kyle Lucas, Jeff Kells, and Courtney Scott. Jamie Whittam and Brian Gamble rounded out the field.
Pro 4 Modifieds
Dan Pettit scored his first victory of 2019 in the first feature ahead of Cliff Hodgkinson, Shannon Morris, Mark Lucas, Dave Hodgkinson, and Nick Abballe.
Cliff Hodgkinson picked up his second victory of the season in the second feature ahead of Dan Pettit, Mark Lucas, Nick Abballe, Shannon Morris, and Dave Hodgkinson.
Canadian Vintage Modifieds
Max Wright scored his first victory of 2019 in the first feature ahead of Mike Klotz, Daryl Henwood, TJ Marshall and Mike Podd. John Karley finished sixth, followed by Steve Trendell, Ian McIntyre, Jeremy Barton, and Brian Atkinson. Amanda Stoner finished 11th, while Bill Stoner failed to finish.
Steve Trendell picked up his third win of the season in the second feature ahead of Jeremy Barton, TJ Marshall, Daryl Henwood, and Max Wright. Mike Klotz finished sixth, followed by Ian McIntyre, John Karley, Brian Atkinson and Amanda Stoner. Mike Podd and Bill Stoner failed to finish.
The speedway also hosted a King of the Hill, with Pure Stock competitor Leo Labarbera picking up the checkered flag against the 17 participants.

This Saturday, September 7 is a special for Flamboro Speedway, as it is time for Memorial Night, where we remember the racers who have passed on. The night will feature an on-track autograph session, and corn roast.
There will be plenty of racing to take in with the Grisdale Racing Products Late Models, Ray’s Towing & Recovery Super Stocks, Klotz Auto Repair and Engine Machine Shop Mini Stocks, McClurkin Properties Cambridge Pure Stocks, Ontario Pro Challenge, and Canadian Vintage Modifieds all in attendance.
The pit gates open at 4pm, followed by the spectator gates at 5pm, with racing getting underway at 6pm.
