SEE YOU AT THE RACES!

MILLGROVE, Ontario --- After seeing their night end early at the beach, it’s no secret the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It are ready to roll into Flamboro Speedway this coming weekend on Saturday, August 27.

A.J. Emms enters this weekend with confidence, following six consecutive podium finishes. The Millgrove, Ontario oval has treated him well with a pair of victories and six podiums over the past four seasons.

Luke Gignac enters this weekend hoping to keep things rolling, following a fourth at Peterborough Speedway for his second straight top-10 performance. He knows his way around Flamboro as he won an event in June 2017, and has backed it up with four top-five’s in his last six appearances.

Dale Reinhart will hope to keep the momentum rolling following three consecutive top-five performances. In his previous 10 starts at Flamboro, he has eight top-eight’s, including a pair of runner-ups.

Jason Keen hopes to keep the steady consistency rolling following a pair of sixth-place finishes back-to-back. In his last five starts at Flamboro, he has posted three top-five’s with just one finish worse than eighth.

Wally Wilson hopes to score his third top-10 finish of the season, following a season-best ninth at Peterborough Speedway. Notably, his best finish to date at Flamboro Speedway is 12th on two occasions.

Andy Kamrath is currently in the middle of a hot streak, riding a wave of back-to-back wins into the weekend, with five total on the season. He has been fast at Flamboro Speedway in each previous appearance, scoring three straight podiums including two victories.

Brad Pearsall will hope to have a solid performance in his first start back on the tour since running into motor issues in the season opener at Sunset Speedway. He has been fast at Flamboro Speedway in the past, scoring three top-fives in his most recent string of appearances including a runner-up.

Tommy Robb hopes to return to the top-10, following three consecutive results with a best finish of 11th.

TJ Edwards has been fast all season to date, as evident by his six consecutive top-five finishes, including a victory at Delaware Speedway. He was strong in his rookie campaign at Flamboro, as evident by a runner-up performance.

Herb Walters’ consistency is something he hopes to continue, following three straight top-10 performances on the tour.

Jake Watson has become a dark horse on the tour, as evident by no finishes worse than ninth through six appearances in 2022 including a season-best fourth. He knows his way around Flamboro, as evident by previous trips to victory lane in the Mini Stock.

Marshall Schrenk has been knocking on the door of victory lane all year, with no finishes worse than eighth in five tour appearances for 2022.

After a rough start to the year, Paul Townsend has somewhat turned things around with back-to-back top-10 performances. He got to hold the checkered flag last year at Flamboro after winning a heat, backed up by an 11th-place finish in the feature.

Tyler Liscum has been rocky to date, with a pair of top-10’s but bad luck also plaguing the team. With the car carrying new colours, he hopes that will be the luck to break the cycle.

Steve Trendell will look to be part of the conversation this weekend, after scoring a third in his first appearance with the tour in 2022 at Delaware Speedway. He knows his way around Flamboro from Canadian Vintage Modified competition, and placed ninth in last year’s feature.

He should be joined by TJ Marshall, who has proven his knowledge at Flamboro with nine trips to victory lane in CVM competition.

Bryan Batty hopes to keep the momentum rolling after three top-10’s in his last three tour appearances, including a pair of top-five’s. He has not been super strong at Flamboro, scoring a track-best 10th last season.

Bob Franks hopes to keep the momentum rolling after picking up a 10th-place finish at Peterborough Speedway.

Mike Hearty will look to return to the top-10 following a 13th-place finish in his most recent tour appearance.

Beyond those mentioned here, there are other drivers that may show-up this weekend so be sure to be in attendance to see these cars in action.

MILLGROVE, Ontario --- The fans at Flamboro Speedway are getting used to seeing the No. 55 out front, as Cory Whittam repeated the same feat as last month, scoring the feature win in Qwick Wick T.Q. Can-Am Midget action.

Brody Rickwood won the first heat followed by Jeff Blackburn, James Stanley, Cassidy March, Bob Bailey, Robert Pollillo, and Paul Harrison.

Cory Whittam was victorious in the second qualifier ahead of Dominique Smith, Daniel Hawn, David Miller, Craig Pitchell, Paul Jorgenson, Bailey Brown, and Mike Coleman, while Andrew Whelan did not finish.

Despite starting deep in the field, Cory Whittam worked his way forward rather quickly, breaking into the top-five on Lap 4. He continued to move forward, running third at the halfway mark. He would move into second shortly thereafter, before taking the lead on Lap 17. He then led the final eight laps en route to victory lane.

Daniel Hawn took over the runner-up spot at the same time, remaining there till the checkered flag in front of David Miller, Jeff Blackburn, and Craig Pitchell. Cassidy March ran just outside the top-five all race en route to sixth ahead of Paul Jorgensen and Bob Bailey. Several cars failed to finish due to mechanical issues and a couple incidents, including Mike Coleman, Dominique Smith, Robert Pollilo, James Stanley, Brody Rickwood, and Bailey Brown.

There were four cars that failed to start the feature – Andrew Whelan, Jaden Riddell, Mike Coleman, and Ryan Fraser.

Pro Late Model

A familiar face also won in Late Model action, as Chris Howse led flag-to-flag en route to winning the first feature followed by Rick Burbridge, Mat Box, Kevin Albers, and Mark Burbridge. Fresh off his first career win, Ty Cavallin placed sixth ahead of Kevin Gallant, Logan White, Trevor Thompson, Steve Laking, and David Gallinger.

Mark Burbridge took over the top spot on Lap 15 of 25 in the second feature, pacing the event the rest of the way en route to winning, followed by Kevin Albers, Kevin Gallant, Mat Box, and Chris Howse. Trevor Thompson dropped outside the top-five with three laps to go for sixth ahead of Logan White and David Gallinger. Rick Burbridge, Ty Cavallin, and Steve Laking failed to finish.

Canadian Vintage Modified

TJ Marshall continues to reign supreme in Canadian Vintage Modified action, as he swept the pair of features.

He took the lead just past the halfway mark to win the first feature followed by Ricky Willigar, Mike Podd, Quintin Murdoch, and Scott Tonelli. Jae Pepin was sixth ahead of Ian McIntyre and Steve Murdoch. Some contact on track would see Mike Westwood, Adam Ross, and Rodney Rutherford not finish.

The second 25-lap affair was harder to win, as he did not grab the top spot until two laps to go, beating Ricky Willigar to the line, followed by Quintin Murdoch, Scott Tonelli, and Ian McIntyre. Mike Westwood rebounded for sixth ahead of Steve Murdoch, Jae Pepin, and Adam Ross. Mike Podd and Rodney Rutherford failed to finish.

Mini Stock

Bobby Mercer proved he is not slowing down in Mini Stock action, leading all 20 laps en route to winning, followed by Mike Thomson, Mike Gilmour, Kaitlyn Wallace, Matt Young, and Nikki King.

Following contact between the leaders on Lap 15, Mike Thomson got the lead on the restart and did not look back en route to his first career Mini Stock feature win, followed by Bobby Mercer, Matt Young, Mile Gilmour, Kaitlyn Wallace, and Nikki Young.

Pure Stocks

The fans got to witness a fence climb after Kris Lawrence won the first Pure Stock feature ahead of Eric Stewart, Gillian Hils, Kyle Lucas, and Rick Mitchell. Reece Bourgeois continued her strong sophomore campaign with sixth, followed by Spencer Riddell, Moses Ruiz, Leo Labarbera, and Chance Rogers. Cameron Thomson was 11th ahead of Mark Thorne, Mark Allan, and Sarah Penny, while Courtney Scott and Alex Stewart failed to finish.

Taking the lead with seven laps to go, Mark Thorne led the rest of the way en route to winning, joined on the podium by Kris Lawrence and Eric Stewart. Gillian Hils and Kyle Lucas rounded out the top-five, followed by Cameron Thomson, Chance Rogers, Rick Mitchell, Moses Ruiz, and Leo Labarbera. Reece Bourgeois was 11th ahead of Mark Allan and Sarah Penny, while incidents on-track saw Courtney Scott, Alex Stewart, and Spencer Riddell fail to finish.
